A:The front camera records true 4K (3840×2160). The rear, left, and right cameras record 1080P. That is why some listings show "1080p" in the spec table — it refers to the three secondary channels, not the front.

We put 4K on the front on purpose. In a real incident the front camera is the one that has to read a license plate at highway speed or a traffic signal at dusk. The three supporting cameras exist to prove what happened *around* the car, and 1080P does that job well.

Q2. What SD card should I use for A980 Pro, and why does it keep asking me to reformat?

A: The A980 Pro ships with a 128GB card that is already formatted and tested. Three rules keep it working:

1. Format the card in the dash cam, not on your computer.

2. Use the card that came with the unit,or use a high-speed TF card ( C10 ) compatible with SDHC for continuous recording due to large HD video data. Standard phone cards are not built for four channels writing non-stop.

3. If the screen prompts you to format, go to Settings → Format SD Card and let it run to completion. Never pull the card mid-format.

If the unit starts beeping continuously, that is the card-full or card-error alert — format it in the camera, or check that loop recording is turned on.

Q3. How many hours of recording do I get, and what happens when the card fills up?

A:With all four channels running, the included 128GB card holds roughly 12–14 hours before loop recording begins. Loop recording then overwrites the oldest unlocked files automatically — you never "run out" of space, and you never have to manage the card by hand.

Collision clips locked by the G-sensor are protected and are never overwritten.

Q4. Do I need to buy the hardwire kit for A980 Pro? What is it for?

A: Only if you want 24-hour parking surveillance. With the standard Type-C car charger, the camera records while driving and stops when the ignition is off. The hardwire kit (SKU B0FRM5YFNF) taps into your fuse box and keeps the camera powered while parked, with low-voltage protection built in.

Q5. How do I get the footage onto my phone?

A:Install the companion app, then:

1. Power on the camera (start the car or turn the ignition to ACC)
2. On your phone, join the camera's own WiFi network — 5.8GHz. This is not your home WiFi and it does not use mobile data.
3. Open the app. You get live preview, in-app playback, and one-tap download of clips to your camera roll.
Prefer a cable? Pull the microSD card and read it on a computer, then format it back in the camera before you reinsert it.

Q6. Will it fit my car, and how long does installation take?

A: It mounts over your existing rearview mirror with silicone straps, so it is not vehicle-specific — it fits virtually any car, truck, SUV, van, or RV with a standard mirror. Nothing is drilled.
